Originally from the UK, I’ve lived and worked in Japan for over 30 years.
During my 10 years with McKinsey, I simultaneously managed 3 departments and became one of the few certified trainers in Asia, coaching high-achieving consultants and clients in leadership and communication. I loved that work because I LOVED to see the change in people 💕
After leaving the corporate world in 2013 and establishing my own business the next day, I became passionate about helping women in Japan succeed professionally—without sacrificing their personal lives.

This came from my own insecurities and painful experiences of burnout.
And I realized it wasn’t just me. I’d seen so many other high-performing women telling themselves they weren’t good enough and pushing themselves to exhaustion.
It’s natural to want to do excellent work and keep everyone happy, right? But it’s mottainai (a waste) if it comes at the cost of your health and happiness.
Through years of experience, research, trial, and error, I discovered a different and better way—one that integrates practical professional skills with physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. I call it “Less Effort, More Impact.” And I’d love more women to know how they can start to put this into practice too for more success and less stress.
